When Fate Knocks, Invite Her in for Turkey Wraps

If Fate continues ‘a knockin’, let her shack up with you for as LONG as she wants!

Today is Friday, May 13th. Lucky, lucky day by my standards. I was born on the 13th (of November) so 13 just happens to be my lucky number. I’m not superstitious but I do think that Friday the 13th is a great day to get lucky…

So many things have been just falling into place lately, literally falling into my lap! First, I started doing personal training, which was a huge deal since it forced me to stretched my comfort zone to new limits. From there, I found comfort in uncomfortable new experiences…

Then I got 2 free tickets through Foodbuzz to meet (and drink and eat lots of deliciousness) celebrity chefs in Pebble Beach. Luck or Fate?

Fate is also handing me incredibly, wonderful, confident, and encouraging people to work with and learn from. I am thankful to use them as resources (and amazing friends): Anne,  Vickie, Katie, Danielle, Amy, Caitlin L., Alisa, Lindsay, Ernie(!), Mom, Dad, Sister! I love all of you! And every single one of you that comments or reads my blog- that makes me happy. 🙂

Then I won Alisa’s fabulous giveaway: I’m going to the Fitness & Health Blogger Conference!!!! Hello?! And I get to see Miss Alisa speak there!

Colorado, here I come! (next month… not quite yet.)

But before all of that though, I get to meet some of my best blogger friends at the end of this month! Katie, Kelly, and I are hiking the Grand Canyon for Katie’s birthday. I’m not gonna lie, there may be whiskey involved. But more on this event as we get closer (only 2 more weekends!). But Fate did plan this perfectly with my parents being in Arizona- double vacation

Anyway, you came for food, and Fate has to eat; You know, since Fate has been so generous lately.

How about a turkey wrap? Or maybe a turkey wrap with sauteed zucchini and smothered in avocado creamy sauce?  Sure, why not…

In the wrap:

  • Ezekiel Sprouted Whole Wheat Tortilla (those things are huge)
  • Turkey breast (seasoned with lots of spice!)
  • Sauteed zucchini
  • Avocado + Greek yogurt + nutritional yeast + lime juice + cumin + paprika + sea salt
  • Greens
  • Hands–> mouth–> tummy–> done!

This was huge (and delicious) and I ate the whole thing. Hey, I work out… I deserve it. 😉

Maybe it’s luck, maybe it’s Fate, or maybe it’s just a way of looking at the world, but I’m feeling wonderful with all of the new opportunities that are making appearances in my life.

Do you believe in Fate? Or just amazing luck? What’s the difference for you?

Are you a lucky person, or do you make your own luck? Amy has some wise and thought provoking words on this subject.

Don’t forget to finish off your meal with Fate with some Creamy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. They’re yummy.

I’m so jealous you are hiking the grand canyon. i’ve always wanted to go!

  3. Fate in amazing like that! (Haha I almost typed “Fat is amazing like that”- true as well). You’ve got a lot going on! You’re also 5 days younger than me! (And maybe some years too- I’m nov 8 1986.) For a Friday the 13th, I don’t think I could have had a more amazing day.

That avocado mix sounds great too.

    Have a great weekend Lori!

  4. Wow, today was a lucky day for ya 🙂

I think I’m a lucky person because of the fact that I make my own luck. I like to live by the mantra of “if you can dream it, you can do it.”

  5. i believe things happen for a reason & that destiny needs to be helped along by your own hard work! how exciting about the giveaway! congrats!

  6. Yay, this sounds way better than the poo mood! I’m so glad for you. And yes, I really do believe that once we start moving in the right direction within ourselves, the universe moves with us. It can be so hard sometimes to identify our subconscious blocks, and that can be a frustrating time, but I feel like it’s something we can learn.

And my energy is so much better, I’m starting a workout program (Phil’s going to make me some weights out of railroad spikes, I think). If I can ever catch up with other folks’ blogs, maybe I’ll get to update my own now that we’re home with some story on that.

Love the idea of hiking the Grand Canyon, and getting to see your parents too–awesome.
    love
    Ela

Turkey and avocado is my most favorite sandwich combo ever. But if there is bacon involved as well, then we’re talking BLISS.

  10. gaaaasp you’re going to be SO close when you’re in Colorado!! Who knows, maybe we’ll be in the process of moving by then and be driving through?!! Probably not but hey I’m gonna get my hopes up 😉

    I believe in believing!!!
I feel lucky all the time..not just for winning things but with life in general especially when it comes to travelling and things just working out!

  13. It’s interesting… the same thing has happened to me. I think once you tell the universe (if you believe in that stuff) that you’re ready… everything it’s been holding on for you, just drops right out of the sky. No complaints here! I’m happy to hear things are coming together for you. AND congrats on winning that giveaway!

  14. Wow girl, congrats on all the amazing things going on in your life right now 🙂 I think like happiness, you make your own luck. When you believe in yourself and dont let things bring you down, you’ll notice how life just seems to fall into place. Of course God helps tremendously 🙂 Last year we were trying to save up for our 1 yr wedding anniversary. We had plans to do a whole weekend thing but didnt think we’d have enough money. We ended up getting all the money we needed from our tax return. Turns out we paid too much, and we got a bigger refund then expected. It all works out in the end 🙂

  15. I definitely believe in creating your own luck AND happiness. UM, AND I’D LOVE YOUR BAKED GOODS. sending you my address now 🙂

  16. oh I love this. So thankful for you! and I believe in fate because I have HOPE and FAITH!
