I’m officially a local celebrity… again?
Yesterday I appeared on Good Day Sacramento‘s morning show, showcasing What Runs Lori and a Paleo lifestyle- and how nutrition and exercise helped me lose 50 pounds.
It was quite an experience, let me tell you!
Amy Carabba contacted me letting me know they would love to have me on the show. Hmmm… Great!
But I had to make a lot of dishes to show the viewers. And by a lot, she meant a LOT. Hmmm… Great!
And it would be awesome to have it at the CrossFit gym I went to. Hmmmmmm… a little more difficult but… Great!!
So, 4 am Tuesday morning I woke up, prepped all the rest of the food I had worked on making the night before, and packed everything to head to the gym.
5:30 am my boyfriend (thank you for helping me!) and I arrived at the gym to set everything up- a long table and all the fixings. And nervously awaited Amy and the news crew to pull up in their fancy Good Day Sacramento van.
A few minutes later she was there, bubbly and bobbing around, with an exuberant amount of energy for that time of the morning, ready to rock and roll.
She prompted myself and the team of CrossFitters on how things would work and what would happen and what to do when. It was kind of nice having her dictate exactly the day’s events and not have to worry about anything. She was calm and such a sweet woman, making it an enjoyable experience for all of us nervous people.
Ready? Set? ACTION-
Segment 1
Segment 2
The whole experience was incredibly fun and slightly nerve-racking. Overall, I LOVED it. I didn’t really get a chance to talk or form any sentences that flowed (but each “hit” was SO rushed and busy!).
I’m planning more things to break my way into TV… and to have my own show on the Food Network.
I’m thinking Michael Simon and I will do some Iron Chef’ing together.
Maybe Anne Burrell and I can be best buddies, judging the Worst Cooks in America…
Tyler Florence and I will just cook.
I’ll creep around Morimoto…
And Alton Brown, Guy, and I will travel the world in search of the BEST places to eat [healthy]. I can just picture it now…
Just you wait…
