Been there, done that, and went back for more.
Portland was that great.
The food, the people, the mountains, the fresh and clear air! There was so much to do, see, and experience, my boyfriend and I went back a few months later (after our first trip) to do Portland, Part 2. Check out Portland, Part 1 here!
After spending five days in Portland, Oregon, my boyfriend and I decided we loved it so much we knew we had to go back sooner than later.
Three months later, another five full days, a hotel stay right in downtown, another fully caffeinated coffee tour, a haunted beer tour, and an incredible amount of exploring, I’m happy to say, we STILL love PDX.
Why, you ask?
There’s just a calming quaintness to this city… and entire state for that matter.
Art is everywhere you look. Graffiti’ed art on buildings, in coffee cups, etched into glass, posted as signs on brick buildings, looking down the arches of bridges, and plated at every meal.
There’s substance and quality and life to Portland.
And the COFFEE…
The rich, luscious, sweet and bitter coffee.
Best coffee places I’ve experienced thus far include:
It’s hard to pick just a few places because there are SO SO SOOOOOO many coffee shops. Literally every corner you turn. But the above list housed my favorites, with the most complex flavors and textures to me, this time around. 🙂
Still going strong and will always be one of my favorite places in the WORLD to eat at is Broder. Simply. Freakin’. Delicious. And those cute little aebleskivers…
Broder (breakfast & brunch is to die for!)
Olympia Provisions (charcuterie and damn good at it.)
The Fireside (holy wow, this place has the BEST food, BEST drinks and BEST happy hour)
And the incredible diversity of Oregon.
blustery breezy windy overpowering wind at the Oregon Coast…
To the chilly, snowy play-day at Mount Hood…
To a bike ride around the city, seeing sites in one of the most bicycle-friendly places ever.
