FAVORITES

Not to be confused with these favorite things, but this page is dedicated to a few of my absolute, can’t-live-without, must-have, favorites. Without these, I would only be half a Lori. ;) For even more favorites, and great recommendations, check out Katie and Alisa‘s essentials, too.

Links are provided so you can actually see the products. Feel free to browse around for the best prices though. But kick-backs are fun and friendly and here are my favorite items. ;)

FOOD-STUFFS

Blendtec Blender (by far the best thing I have ever purchased)

Lifetime Life’s Basics Plant Protein: best. tasting. protein. ever. Do yourself a wonderful favor and buy this. It’s cheap, tastes amazing, and really fuels your body. (available in vanilla, chocolate, greens, 5 fruit blend, and unsweetened)

Hemp Protein: feed your muscles with something real

Beer. I am all about healthy living and giving my body what it needs to be pushed and to push (heavy weight). This includes drinking beer because life is short and (some) beer is delicious.

  • Maui Brewing Company: Bikini Blonde Ale
  • Eel River: Organic …Eye of the Hawk
  • Redbridge Gluten Free Beer
  • Samuel Adams
  • Paulaner (German beer- any kind)
  • Guinness (in small quantities- that stuff is thick)

FITNESS-STUFFS

BodyMedia. This gadget is incredible. For help with weight loss, weight gain (muscles!!), calorie tracker, sleep quality tracker, a pedometer, knowing your exercise intensity level, and more, this guy does it all. I am in love with my BodyMedia.

CrossFit. Want to learn how to lift weights? Feel more comfortable in the gym/weight room? Take a month of CF (your city has one and you get 2 free times to “try it out”). If you don’t become utterly obsessed, at least you’ll obtain a firm grasp on how to lift properly and dance around the gym with the boys. ;)

TRX. A must for anyone. Most gyms have TRX set up. I suggest asking a personal trainer how to use these or for some ideas on some “moves” you could do. With your body weight working against you, these help to tone, firm, and provide soreness in places you didn’t know even existed on your body. Take my advice. Seek TRX.

MMA. Punch, kick, “jab, cross, uppercut,” and release some anger. Sounds like P90X on steroids or a great way to raise endorphins. Take a class at your local Mixed Martial Arts studio to see what it’s all about. The most heart-pumping, empowering class you’ll ever take. Plus, you’ll look insanely bad-ass wearing wraps and boxing gloves.

Foam Roller This one rocks. I have it in orange. ;)
Garmin Forerunner 305 The must for any runner.
