If You Like Pina Coladas… Then You’ll Like This Smoothie
Happy Wednesday! If you’re day is as insanely busy as mine is today, you’ll want this smoothie in your blender, meeting your cup, enjoyed in your mouth, and nourished in your stomach. It’s the perfect meal on the go.
And by on the go, I mean you wake up, roll out of bed, get yourself to the gym to get a quick workout in (because that keeps you sane!). Shower, get yourself somewhat presentable, clock in for work (you work at the gym so travel time is cut down… love it!), meet with 9 clients in a row. Geez. My Wednesday really is crazy.
Follow your busy day path (and smoothie digestion road) and make this incredible, fruity, tasteslikeatriptothetropics smoothie.
Pina Colada Green Smoothie
Makes 2 servings: Divide into two large to-go glasses (or mason jars). One for now, one for later.
- 1 1/2 cup coconut water (or even better would be coconut milk!)
- 1-2 cup spinach
- 1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple, diced
- 1 scoop high quality protein powder (optional but yummy)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds (or flax seeds)
- 1 piece fresh ginger
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 packet Stevia (optional)
- 2 cups ice, or to your texture liking
Blend all in a blender, adding more ice or coconut water, as needed for blending. Enjoy with a few extra slices of pineapple and a sprinkle of dried coconut on top.
Easy and done!
After making this smoothie I froze the leftover pineapple. Can we say, best icy dessert ever? Ok, no, but frozen pineapple is delicious.
