Six Mouth Watering Homemade Pizzas

Not just pizza.
EPIC pizza.
And six of them, for that matter!
Epic pizza because the more you make, the better you get, the more you are able to try out new and different toppings!
And because making pizza is fun.
And we only like making things that are fun, right?
Right.
I also like making things that are easy. These pizzas, although do take a bit of time to make, are pretty simple and pretty easy to put together.
Dust, stretch, roll, chop, slice, slather, top, bake, eat!
I usually love making everything from scratch but with pizza crust/dough, I’m all about simplifying. That means that for most of my pizza adventures, I use Trader Joe’s pizza dough.
I’ve tried a few different store-bought doughs and Trader Joe’s, in my opinion, has the best. There are three types to pick from, regular, whole wheat, and herb and garlic. I’ve tried all three, I love all three.
They’re fresh if used within a day or two after purchasing and taste great! One package of dough usually feeds my boyfriend and I with a bit of leftovers and two feeds about 3-4 hungry guests.
Another amazing option is Whole Foods’ cornmeal crust. It’s flavor incredible, hearty, small but thick, and make an outstanding pizza. It’s more of a “deep dish” kind of crust so I usually go for Trader Joe’s but absolutely go with whatever floats your boat… or pizza.
But wait! What about Paleo options??
Two that I’ve tried, trusted and enjoy are 1. Cauliflower Pizza Crust (wow!), 2. slice a large eggplant into rounds, top with sauce, toppings, bake, and eat! Super delicious and a fraction of the carbs and calories (see below)!
Onto topping ideas…
To really make a pizza epic, you need to get creative, innovative, fun and funky.
Try odd combination toppings like rich prosciutto, sweet medajool dates, spicy jalapeños, and smoked cheddar cheese. I mean, outrageously good.
Here are some of my favorite combinations or toppings:

- red bell peppers
- picked jalapeños (after baking)
- arugula (after baking)
- drizzle of balsamic vinegar (after baking)
Sweet & Spicy

Caramelized Onion Veggie (also found here)

Not only are these fun and delicious but they’re sexy as hell!

What do you top your pizza with?
Ooh, so much inspiration in this post! I love these topping ideas. Funny, we just took a picture of those pizza doughs at TJ’s to share 🙂
I’ll just need to make a few no-cheese or nondairy options!
